Fall in Wyoming County, NY: A Must-Do Guide

As fall graces Wyoming County with vibrant foliage and crisp air, there’s no better time to experience its beauty and charm. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventures, festivals, or craft beverages, Wyoming County is the perfect fall destination, just a short drive from Buffalo, Rochester, and Niagara Falls.

Leaf Peeping & Nature Hikes

Looking for breathtaking views of fall foliage? Wyoming County is home to some of New York’s most stunning natural scenery:

Letchworth State Park
Renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," Letchworth State Park is a paradise for leaf-peepers. With 66 miles of hiking trails, hot air balloon rides, and sweeping vistas overlooking the Genesee River gorge, the park offers fall experiences like no other. The stunning red, orange, and yellow leaves provide a spectacular backdrop for outdoor activities like kayaking, whitewater rafting, and horseback riding. For those seeking a more leisurely experience, enjoy a meal at the historic Glen Iris Inn or visit the Humphrey Nature Center.

Silver Lake State Park
For a peaceful day by the water, visit Silver Lake State Park, a 776-acre natural haven perfect for picnicking and birdwatching. Paddleboards, party boats, and fishing access are available, making it a fantastic spot for a laid-back fall adventure.

Beaver Meadow Audubon Center
Spend a serene day at Beaver Meadow Audubon Center, where you'll find eight miles of nature trails winding through 324 acres of unspoiled landscape. This family-friendly spot also features a nature center with wildlife exhibits, a nature library, and a children's discovery room. Fall is an ideal time to explore the changing colors, kettle ponds, and wetlands.

Craft Beverages: Sip & Savor

Unwind after a day of fall exploration with a visit to one of Wyoming County’s craft beverage spots, each offering unique flavors and outdoor spaces to enjoy the crisp fall air.

Start with Amber Lantern Brewing Company, where you can relax with a rotating selection of craft beers, either inside or on their cozy outdoor patio. Silver Lake Brewing Project also invites you to savor bold American and Belgian-style beers, with plenty of seasonal options, while taking in the views from their charming outdoor seating area.

Next up is Windy Brew, where you can sample a range of beers from light ales to hoppy IPAs in a beautiful tasting room. Windy Brew also lets you brew your own beer at their Custom Brew Center, making it a truly unique experience.

For a larger experience, Beer Justice Brewing Co. offers a spacious tasting room, ample outdoor seating, and a beer garden for activities like corn hole and kan-jam. They serve a variety of beer styles, plus cider from Buried Barrel Hard Cider, which comes from apples grown at Pankow Apple Orchards in Castile. Buried Barrel crafts its ciders with a deep connection to family farming traditions, and their tasting room, just minutes from Letchworth State Park, is open on weekends.

Speaking of cider, don’t miss Three Falls Cider, where artisan hard ciders are pressed, blended, and aged on-site. Located near Letchworth, Three Falls offers a relaxing patio to enjoy the crisp, refreshing taste of their handcrafted ciders.

For wine lovers, Main Street Winery in Arcade is the place to be, offering locally made wines including dessert wines and wine sorbetto, perfect for pairing with the season’s fall flavors.

Whether you’re a beer, cider, or wine enthusiast, Wyoming County’s craft beverage trail has something for everyone, complete with outdoor patios to take in the beautiful fall foliage.
