As we breathe in the fresh country air, we'll stop for a picnic lunch, complete with delicious locally-sourced treats. and soak in the serene ambiance of the beautiful natural surroundings. Next, we'll embark on an unforgettable train excursion; as we chug along the tracks, we'll take in the breathtaking views of the rolling hills, tranquil streams, and lush greenery that stretch as far as the eye can see. Finally, we'll indulge in a sweet treat to end our day. Join us on this captivating journey through the heartland, where scenic beauty, delightful experiences, and cherished memories await.

A wonder of color and creativity; there are over 100 hand-painted barn quilts along the back-country roads and you’ll view many of these unique creations on your narrated driving tour. Your local guide will convey interesting and charming tails while you view the quilts that adorn barns, homes, and fences.
Now’s picnic time!
There are several restaurants in the area that welcome putting together a delicious and nutritious picnic lunch for groups. The plan is to make a quick stop, pick up the lunches and head down to the train. Once there and before boarding, sit in shaded comfort and enjoy an al fresco picnic. We will provide details and contact information upon request.

Step back in time aboard a vintage World War ll-era diesel train. This authentic short-line railroad has the distinction of being one of the last “common carriers” — running freight and passenger trains. The historic station provides the history of railroading in America then you embark on a scenic journey through the countryside and farmlands that have remained virtually unchanged since the line was originally laid in the 1880s. The train excursion makes a stop at Curriers Depot, where there is free time to explore, look at the engine, take pictures, and talk with the crew.

East Hill Creamery milks 1,300 of their own cows on over 1000 acres so this fantastic, grass-fed milk makes a superior Alpine-style cheese. Tasting is believing...which you will, along with a tour of the creamery and a chance to purchase some of this remarkable cheese…either in their store or via their unique “Cheese Vending Machine."
