When

Event has ended

Alfred University and the New York State DanceForce are proud to offer:
Echoes of Africa – a collective of artists – dancers, choreographers and musicians that bring arts within the African Diaspora to audiences within New York State and beyond.
The Echoes of Africa Dance Collective will present “Wonlande,” a production of Traditional and Contemporary African drum and dance on September 16th 7:00pm in Miller Theater. This high energy, dynamic and musically enriching communal event takes the audience on a cultural tour through the countries of the Caribbean and West Africa. The audience will enjoy the songs, the rhythms and the live percussion as they celebrate life and culture of the African Diaspora in this one-night extravaganza. This performance would take place at the Miller Performing Arts Center and is free to the public.
This project is made possible with funds from the NYS DanceForce, a partnership program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
