Celebrate Women's History Month & the Erie Canal Bicentennial on March 20 at 6:30pm when Elizabeth Farrell of the Erie Canal Museum (Syracuse) presents -- Waterway of Change: Women & The Erie Canal.
The Erie Canal revolutionized Upstate NY along the Canal Corridor, bringing new ideas, people, and industries to the region, sparking a firestorm of change. Hear how these changes led to the various social movements including the fights for temperance, Abolition, and ultimately women's rights. Learn of the movements' dependence on networks that the Canal facilitated.
