The Fosdick-Nelson Gallery is proud to present Playthings, curated by Anthony Nguyen and William Wheeler.

 

The curator’s show description reads “By exhibiting artworks that engage play from various artists and designers with disparate artistic practices and concerns, Playthings seeks to broaden our understanding of the intersection between art and play; to imagine both as human activities that may have no clear aim or function outside of themselves; that resist contemporary notions of productivity or instrumentality.” Participating artist include: Jacky Connolly, Harry Dodge, Clare Gatto, Kara Gut, Paul Higham, Jacob Hoving, Stanya Kahn, James Kirkpatrick, Ben Patterson, Emily Sara, Allan Wexler, and Robert Yang.

Playthings will open with a reception on Friday, February 16, 6-8pm, and run through March 21, 2024. The Fosdick-Nelson hours are 12 to 4pm weekdays, and 1 to 3pm weekends, and closed university breaks and holidays.
