Plan an early afternoon at the Holland Land Office Museum with the family that combines storytelling with history lessons! The new History Storytime is happening on August 17th at 11 a.m. Joyce Thompson-Hovey will be sharing the fun topic of Civil War Mascots and Pets. 

The speaker will be wearing a Civil War Union uniform and explaining what the average soldier wore and carried with them. The program shows how many regiments had strange and unusual pets. The pets went to war and lived in camps with their soldier owners. 

Stop by for some unusual stories.
