Hometown Holiday & Charles W. Howard Hometown Parade

Albion's annual Hometown Holiday includes businesses that will be hosting activities including face painting, ornament kits, Christmas crafts, letters to Santa, a scavenger hunt, food, and more. 

The Hometown Holiday ends with the Charles W. Howard Hometown Parade starts on East Bank Street, then goes to North Main, to Linwood Avenue then Brown Street, Lydun Drive, back to Brown then Caroline and Ingersoll streets, then East Bank, East State, Platt and East Park, then to McKinistry, Chamberlain, Main and West Bank, then King Street, Washington Street, Clinton, West Park, West Academy, West State and end on Main Street. 

Charles W. Howard Hometown Parade is dedicated to the late Charles W. Howard of Albion. In 1937, resident Charlie Howard (1896-1966) established a world-famous Santa Claus School at his Albion farmhouse, the first of its kind & was considered the Dean of the Santa Claus School. He was the 1st nationally televised Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Santa & held that gig for 17 years. The farmhouse is currently a private residence. A statue of Mr. Howard is located at Waterman Park on N. Main St., Albion.
