Cobblestone Museum Fall Open House

Event has endedFall Open House at the Cobblestone Museum.
It’s time once again for the Cobblestone Museum Fall Open House on Saturday, October 5 from 10 am – 3 pm. All buildings and exhibit areas will be open. Special activities include butter making and old-fashioned games. Live demonstrations take place throughout the day in trades buildings, located on Rte. 98. Watch blacksmiths working at the forge, printing press craftsmen operating the Gordon Press, and a saddle maker will share her skills in the Harness Shop. See a Hit ‘n Miss engine operating, a Model T displayed and meet an organ grinder/collector of street organs who will share the sounds of these musical instruments. Visiting artisans also include members of the Genesee Country Lace Guild and Rug Hookers of the Finger Lakes, plus a chair caner, quilter, spinner and weaver.
FREE parking and admission throughout the day, but wristbands are required. Programs will indicate the locations and times throughout the event when activities are available.
The Food Tent will be serving Beef-on-Weck meals from 11 am – 2 pm. Advance sale tickets are $12. It will be $14 for meals at the event until all are sold. Meals include Red Osier beef, choice of roll, pickle spear, potato salad and baked beans. Local bakery slices of fruit pies will be sold separately.
E-YAH-PAH-HAH Wind Quintet concert will be from 3 – 4 pm at the Cobblestone Church. Classical music will be performed, written by Native American composers. A musical piece from the musical Wicked will be included in their repertoire, and a selection by African American composer Victoria Coleman. This is a free-will offering concert.
