This year Oakfield Betterment is bringing back a favorite family-oriented event in partnership with the Oakfield Alabama Lions Club, Oakfield Fire Department, Oakfield Historical Society, Genesee Society of Model Trains, Haxton Memorial Library, The Goose, and many other local businesses and organizations.
Local businesses and organizations will have specials and promotions throughout.
This year there will be music, a parade led by Oakfield Fire Department, and a lighting ceremony for the walk through Winter Wonderland in Village Memorial Park. 
Friday, 12/1:
- 5:00 pm: Oakfield Fire Department leads the Christmas parade from the hall down Main Street past the park
- 5:30 pm: Memorial Park is transformed into a Winter Wonderland with our grand lighting
- Special guests, food, cocoa will be available
Saturday, 12/2:
- 11:00 am - 2:00 pm: Scavenger Hunt:
The first 50 families/participants will begin at The Goose (33 South Main, Oakfield) and receive a wreath with scavenger hunt instructions. Stop at each location on the Christmas passport until your hunt has been completed. Once returned to Oakfield Betterment Committee at The Goose, the passport is entered into a drawing for several prizes! - 11:00 am - 2:00 pm: Local business specials, activities, and activities
- 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Santa and Mrs. Claus and their elves will be serving cookies and hot cocoa in Triangle Park
