Albion's Square
Albion, NY 14411
Canalside Park on the Erie Canal in Albion provides boating facilities, a pavilion, picnic area, and benches for watching lift-bridge operations. Enjoy a summer concert on Thursday evenings at the Gazebo and the annual Strawberry Festival in June.
The white glow welcoming visitors to Albion is reflected from the dome of its magnificent Greek Revival County Courthouse, an 1858 structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For an interesting walk amid 19th-century treasures, the village’s Historic Courthouse District includes 34 buildings from private homes to seven churches. Albion boasts the home of the original Santa Claus School from 1937-1965, created by its most revered residents, Charles W. Howard. More than 100 birdhouses along the canal encourage bluebirds to stay awhile, too!
