Beaver Meadow Audubon Center

The Beaver Meadow Audubon Center offers natural history education and outdoor recreation on an expansive 324-acre nature preserve with eight miles of trails. The Visitors Center features indoor exhibits, a nature library, and wildlife observation windows. Winter activities include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park, known as the "Grand Canyon of the East," offers breathtaking natural beauty and a range of activities. The Genesee River roars through the gorge, cascading over three major waterfalls between cliffs as high as 600 feet. Voted the #1 State Park in the USA by USA Today readers, Letchworth is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can explore 66 miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. The park also features guided nature walks, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and hot-air ballooning. Winter activities include snow tubing and cross-country skiing. Within the park, you’ll also find the historic Glen Iris Inn, which provides charming accommodations and dining options. Also, look for the Autism Nature Trail and the Humphrey Nature Center:

The Autism Nature Trail (The ANT) is a groundbreaking, ADA-compliant one-mile loop designed for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. It features eight stations offering varied experiences from quiet engagement to active exploration. Highlights include sensory stations, a gentle maze, nature-inspired musical instruments, a gliding seat, and an obstacle course. This trail supports sensory perception and encourages social interaction in a natural setting.

The Humphrey Nature Center offers year-round environmental education with interactive exhibits on local geology, wildlife, and botany. The center includes an outdoor classroom, a butterfly garden, a bird observation station, and sustainable features. Trails from the center lead to Trout Pond, Inspiration Point Overlook, and old-growth forests, providing enriching experiences for all ages.

Silver Lake State Park

Located on the banks of Silver Lake, this 776-acre park offers a boat launch, fishing access, and picnic areas. Rent paddleboards or party boats from Silver Lake Marine for a fun day on the water.

Warsaw Waterfalls

Discover an 80-foot waterfall in downtown Warsaw. Hike through the creek bed from the Warsaw Village Park for a mile-long adventure to the falls.
